Lance began photographing at 18 after graduating from high school when he
started a summer job working for a photographer specializing in environmental
portraiture located in Newport Beach, California.  He first started fulfilling orders
and making deliveries.

One day his employer, Jan Parson, gave him a Rolliflex medium format camera
and told him to go out and take some pictures. A week later, Lance came back
with several rolls of film he shot and after reviewing the results, Jan saw such
raw talent that he started Lance in an apprenticeship program that lasted 2 years.

Lance also started a brief apprenticeship with Rick Malmin specializing in
product photography before Rick's tragic death in 1987.

Since then, Lance has done his own work including celebrities, portraiture,
weddings, catalogs, real estate, horse shows, special events and was the official
livestock photographer at the LA County Fair in 1991 & 1992.

In 2007 Lance was documenting drag racing events for Full Throttle News and
has covered the Mile High Nationals in Morrison, Colorado and the Pepsi
Nightfire Nationals in Boise, ID

In 2008 Lance has been covering drag races for 1320 THE MAGAZINE. Events
include the Winternationals in Pomona, CA, The 50th annual March Meet in
Bakersfield, CA and racing events at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, CO.
